I am talking really small here. Small steps, large foot prints! What if you usually put on your pants by putting your right leg in first and today you put your left leg in first? How does that single change feel? My guess is you noticed it felt a tad uncomfortable-which is why most people fear change. Change takes you out of your comfort zone. Moving out of your comfort zone. Hmm. Isn’t that a cause for celebration?
Okay, so how do you celebrate? Well firstly, you feel good about you because you did something new. Allow yourself to experience the feelings of pride. You do feel them, don’t you? You see, you don’t need to leap tall buildings to feel good about yourself and what you do in a day.
Tell someone you care about (and who cares about you) about your change. Let them tell you what a great job you did moving into a new life habit. Get them involved, both as participants and as your cheer leaders. (You can support and congratulate them on their new steps and habits, too.)
Celebrate every little thing. This makes every day successful.
